Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EALs) are becoming increasingly important as industries respond to growing sustainability expectations, environmental regulations, and the need to reduce the impact of lubricant loss in environmentally sensitive areas. Despite growing interest, there is still limited understanding of EAL definitions, standards, performance requirements, and practical adoption considerations across many parts of Asia.
This one-day technical training course provides participants with a practical understanding of EALs through technical presentations, case studies, panel discussions, and interactive sessions led by experts from across the lubricant value chain. Participants will explore regulatory requirements, testing standards, formulation considerations, applications, and market opportunities relevant to Asia.

Module 1 — Definitions, terminology, key properties and the differences between bio-based, biodegradable, environmentally friendly and EAL products.
Module 2 — Regulatory drivers, international standards, ecolabels, testing requirements and certification schemes relevant to Asian markets.
Module 3 — Biodegradability, aquatic toxicity, bioaccumulation testing, formulation, performance and compatibility considerations.
Module 4 — Application areas, operating conditions, equipment requirements, risk assessment and product selection.
Module 5 — Real-world case studies from marine, hydropower, industrial, construction, forestry and other environmentally sensitive sectors.
Module 6 — Lifecycle considerations, total cost of ownership, procurement, customer expectations, supply availability and adoption barriers.
